Meredith and Wheeler Branch Reservoir both have walleye, but catching walleye in Wheeler Branch is rare. I have tried to catch one there for a decade without success; although, I have seen several caught. Meredith has a good population of walleye and you can catch walleye there. The fish are most active from April to June and 90% of the walleye are caught during those months. I have a special fondness for Meredith because after 3 days of fishing, I caught my 100th Texas State Record there.
Meredith is supposed to be the best in texas. I think there are 5-6 lakes with them in there in Texas. Mostly in the panhandle. Better fishing for them in other states that are a lot closer drive for most Texans.
