Headed out this morning to go walleye fishing. Good friend is taking us out in his boat for about half the day, until storms blow us off the water. Pics to follow, I hope. We’ll be fishing a powerplant lake in eastern Wyoming, no size limit so they all will go in the box unless just too small to filet. Might pick up a smallmouth or 2, maybe some crappie if the walleye don’t cooperate.
His favored technique is snap jigging slab spoons, going to have sore arms by end of the day, lol.

Love Walleye. Great tasting fish. Roadrunner jigs tipped with a nightcrawler or 3” Yum Dingers was the go to bait in Quebec.

One of my favorites. Their relative the sauger and their hybrid saugeye are good too!

He had just upgraded his electronics, side imagining was great. The Crestliner is a great boat for our type of fishing and lakes and the 150 Merc. is a beast for getting on and off the water in high winds. New trolling motor too. Shake out trip was a success!!

Very nice haul of walleye! Lots of good dinner there. I’ve heard the yellow perch are good too.

Yellow perch are very underrated, great fish.
We were fishing in about 14-19 ft of water, humps he had mapped. We did try some deeper water, 20+ ft at the end of our day. Water temp 72.4 degrees. Nice breeze had a great walleye chop he called it. I fished off the stern so my hips are sore from fighting the waves, never went swimming.
Buried a hook in my thumb though, just past the barb. Spouse tried pliers, no go but the fishing line trick worked, Aaron pulled it. He said it will hurt, didn’t feel it at all. My own fault handling a perch.
